This book was started with a thought to make Computer Science an exciting topic for Pharmaceutical students. The proposed book is not only student-friendly but also contains all advanced domains of Computer Science in day to day practice. As there is a common syllabus for all pharmacy students, the course has been accordingly designed. The syllabus designed by PCI for ‘Computer Applications in Pharmacy’ is not only an introductory computing course but also it focuses on new industrial skills in Pharmacy.
The book covers eight chapters. The first chapter introduces the readers to digital computers, their basic structure, and components in detail. The second chapter presents the concept of the number system and its applications. Chapter three describes the information system and software engineering theories. Chapter four is about web technology concepts and different tools used for web designing. Chapter five deals with database management systems and its usages in the drug industry. Chapter six explains the different applications of computers in pharmacy and diagnostic systems. Chapter seven holds the basics of bioinformatics and its applications in pharmacy. The last chapter eight gives the knowledge on applications of computers in pre-clinical data analysis.
