Social evils are harmful forces that weaken societies, impede progress, and perpetuate injustice. Key issues include the lack of education for girls, domestic violence, female infanticide, prostitution, dowry, child marriage, and child labor. These problems arise from factors like a lack of scientific temper, lenient governance, gender inequality, lack of empathy, materialism, and excessive religiosity. Dowry, in particular, leads to severe suffering and violence against women, especially among the poor. Human trafficking, another grave issue, is often termed modern-day slavery. These topics are thoroughly examined across eight chapters of the book.
