This book is an outcome of author’s work on Gadaba ethnic community of South Odisha, India, in which description has been made on the group’s interaction with local environment. The daily interaction of Gadabas illustrates their indigenous method and ability to natural resource management. The book is divided into four chapters which cover concept of ethno-ecology, origin of Gadabas, their distribution, customs, rituals, crop management, forest product accessibility, customary beverages (preparation and nutritive characteristic), medicinal plant utilisation and festivals with environmental significance.
