The Handbook of Vaccine Preventable Diseases provides essential information about key aspects of vaccine preventable disease, with a primary focus on vaccine composition, vaccination schedule, co-administration, contraindications, and adverse events after immunization. The book aims to provide a concise handbook that can be used by medical students and primary care physicians for their routine practise and to support other frontline workers like ANMs in providing immunisation services. The book follows the guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India, and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics. It aspires to fulfil a felt need after interactions with multiple primary care physicians across different states of India who expressed the need for a concise book that can provide information on vaccine composition, its schedule, and the schedule to be followed in case of missed doses, adverse events after immunization, and vaccine contraindications. The chapters follow a uniform format, with subsections discussing different components. This book does not discuss the clinical features, diagnosis, and management in details, as the same is left for relevant textbooks.
