The flora is best gifts of nature which are given to human beings, all humanity depend on the floras as food, shelter, medicine in form of fruit, leaves, stem & root. All floras have medicinal value only need identification and uses. These medicinal plants have lots of chemical components viz. Generally these plants are found in open area, waste land area & forest area. Roorkee city is rich of variety of fern which are grown naturally in moist area. Roorkee is located at 29.87°N 77.88°E. It has an average elevation of 268. The important plants Buchanania lanzan, Mangifera indica (aam), Dalbergia sisso (Shisham), Haldina cordifolia (Haldu), Syzygium cumini (Jamun), Mallotus philippinensis (Rohini), Mitragyna parvifolia, Terminalia spp. (Myrobalans), Ficus spp. (Figs), Bauhinia variegate (Kachnar), Bombax cobia (Semal), Holoptelea integrities (Karanj), Siamese Senna, Broussonetia papyrifera (Paper mulberry), Cassia fistula (Amaltas), Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Parijat), & Albizia lebbeck (Shirish) were observed in the study area.
