This is the first book of the 'Know India Series' by the author. The book "Forms of Hindu Deities" is especially written for a new generation of brilliant, highly perceptive and argumentative young children who are exposed to new global scientific ideas. These children have a tendency of not accepting anything unless it appeals to them. Considering the fact that Hinduism which is almost ten thousand years old as the oldest religion in the world and shines through Vedas and Epics of everlasting values, yet it contains substantial mysticism not understood by everyone. It is hard for new genre children to accept anything which is not realistic. Interacting with my grandsons who are growing up in USA, I felt an urgent need to recast complicated mystic tales of Hindu deities into a more realistic and understandable frame so that they could relate to those mystic characters and find them relevant in their lives. This book is indispensable for every modern Indian home where parents and grandparents wish to introduce ancient mythological tales to their children in a more realistic and contemporary manner. It generates greater respect for Hinduism as a monistic philosophy that is made up of only love, co-existence and conservation rather than anything that weakens human bonds.
