Dr. ShriMati Das is a distinguished academic, cultural diplomat, and author with over 35 years of teaching experience in Indian Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Multicultural Studies, and English Literature. A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Northern Kentucky University, USA, and Senior Research Fellow with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, she has also served as First Secretary & Director of the Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre, Mexico (2019–2022). Dr. Das has held esteemed positions such as Chair and Distinguished Visiting Professor at institutions like Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and Northern Kentucky University, and has been a Fulbright Visiting Scholar. She has delivered global lecture series on Indian philosophy, peace, spirituality, and gender equity, emphasizing teachings from the Bhagavad Gita. An acclaimed author, Dr. Das has published 14 books on Gender Studies, Multicultural Forays, and Comparative Philosophies and translated Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry into English, Spanish, Kannada, and Sanskrit. Her work has been reprinted multiple times and honored by leaders like Former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. Additionally, she has represented India as a Cultural Ambassador through Rotary International and has been nominated for prestigious fellowships like the Harvard Junior and Commonwealth Fellowships.
