Sanjyoti Subba completed elementary education at Mahatma Srijunga Sr. Secondary School in West Sikkim and then attended Hee-Yangthang Senior Secondary School. She pursued a Bachelor of Science at Kalimpong Government Degree College, followed by a Master of Science from Sikkim Manipal University. In 2009, she joined GBPNIHE as a Junior Research Fellow and was later promoted to Senior Research Fellow. She worked on a project under Dr. H.K. Badola, focusing on ex-situ conservation and capacity building. Subba has published two papers on phyto-sociology and three articles on species significance in various journals.
