Dr. Ashutosh Srivastava is Graduate in Forestry from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka in which he earned Gold Medal for Graduate studies. He did his Post Graduation from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) and Doctorate in Forest Genetics from Forest Research Institute Deemed University, Dehradun (Uttarakhand). He served as a Scientist for Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an Autonomous Council under Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India before opting for Voluntary Retirement in May 2018. During his tenure with ICFRE he led many projects on conservation and utilisation of forest resources and training on aspects of Sandalwood Cultivation. A passionate researcher and field loving person he is currently working as a freelance consultant on forestry related projects mainly concentrating on commercial plantations of Sandalwood and Teak. He has been providing his services as Deputy Chairman, Institute of Sandalwood and Rare Flora (ISAF), Ha Noi, Vietnam and as Technical Expert on Sandalwood and teak for Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra, Government of Maharashtra. He has 14 peer reviewed research papers to his credit and has guided one student for her Doctoral studies on Sandalwood.
