Dr. Tahira Akhtar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Incharge, Department of Business Administration in Unity P.G. & Law College, Lucknow and is also teaching Economics in LLB (Hons.) She had obtained her Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from University of Lucknow and completed her Ph.D under the supervision of Prof. Madhurima Lall, from the same University. She had completed her B.Ed from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi and MBA from Integral University, Lucknow. She has been teaching Economics from past 11 years. She authored a book on Macro Economics, contributed various research papers in well-known UGC listed International Journals and presented numerous research papers in National and International Conferences and Seminars. She is the Media Coordinator of the College and the Chief Editor of the Annual College Magazine. She is also a Social Activist and the Co-Founder and Joint Secretary of Let’s Climb Together, an NGO established to help the deprived section of the society in the field of Education, Health, Environment and Uplifting the Social Status. Her major areas of specialization is Economics, Banking, Indian Economy, Applied Statistics, Statistical Methods and Public Finance.
