The author has completed his Doctorate in Tourism from Institute of Vocational (Tourism) Studies, MTA, Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla. The topic of his research was “Community Based Tourism in Shimla and Kullu: Stakes, Perceptions and Impact Analysis”, under the supervision of Prof. Sushma Rewal Chugh. Prime objectives of research were to study role of local stakeholders in community based tourism activities, perceptions of local residents towards community based tourism activities and impacts of community based tourism activities in Shimla and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh. The author held the position of Junior Research Fellow & Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Vocational Studies, Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla since 30th December, 2010 up to 14th November, 2014. He also served as project Fellow in UGC SAP DRS Level-I (Tourism) at Institute of Vocational Studies, Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor, Department of Tour & Travel, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh since 17-02-2017, till date. He has attended numerous seminars, conferences & workshops and published more than 25 research papers in national as well as international journals. He has also written SLM / study material for Uttarkhand Open University (UOU), Punjab Technical University (PTU), ICDEOL (HP University) & E-PG pathshala (MHRD-UGC). Moreover, he has visited different states namely Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Goa, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh & Gujarat and fond of trekking in Himalayas. He himself belongs to Siharal village located in Sarkaghat Tehsil of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
