Dr. J. Himarani was born on September 13, 1960 in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, India. She was raised by her grandparents, Mr. Perumal Reddy and Mrs. P. Dhanammal, who played a crucial role in instilling a passion for medicine in her. Dr. J. Himarani attended CSI Elementary School and St. Andrew’s Higher Secondary School in Arakkonam for her education. She holds an undergraduate degree from Stanley Medical College and a postgraduate diploma in Anaesthesia from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India. She is a successful woman who owes her career to the unwavering support of her husband, Mr. K. Raghu Raman B.E. She is also a proud mother of two accomplished sons, Dr. R Balaraman M.B.B.S, M.S Ortho and ER. R. Vijay Kannan B.E, M. Tech [CIVIL].
She enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening. Additionally, she has been an active member of Rotary Club Inner Wheel in Chennai, participating in a variety of community development activities. She has been conducting health care program aimed at welfare of women, particularly screening camps to rule out cervix carcinoma and breast carcinoma which were very successful. She is dedicated to her profession of practicing anesthesia for all types of challenging cases, as well as conducting quality research to improve the quality of life for patients. She is committed to teaching Undergraduate and Post graduate students to impart knowledge and experience that would shape their career in a positive way.
