Dr. S. Bharathkumar obtained his M.Sc. in Botany (1999) from Arignar Anna Government College, Namakal and completed his M.Phil. (2000) and Ph.D. (2004) at Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, University of Madras, Chennai. To his credit, he has published 24 research papers in peer reviewed journals and in book chapters. He has worked as Research Associate in the Department of Microbiology, ICAR-National Bureau of Agriculturally important Microorganisms (NBAIM), Mau, Uttar Pradesh state and Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack, Odisha state. He has also worked as Senior Scientist in Department of Microbiology, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, Tamil Nadu state and as Post-Doctoral Fellow in National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), Suwon, South Korea. He has participated in 30 National and International Conferences and Seminars. He has visited Thailand, South Korea and Japan. At present, he is working as Assistant Professor in PG & Research Department of Botany, Kandaswami Kandar’s College, Velur, Namakkal Dt., Tamil Nadu. His major areas of research include, Rice breeding and Pathology, Molecular biology and Microorganisms (PGPRs).
