Dr Washington Okeyo is Vice-Chancellor, Management University of Africa, Nairobi, Kenya. Dr Washington is head of the Academic, Research and Extension Division of the University and is responsible for university-wide policy and strategy related to academic programmes and teaching and learning to maintain and advance the University’s profile. His thesis on Entrepreneurial Orientation, Business Environment, Business Development Services and Performance of Small and Medium Manufacturing Enterprises in Kenya is widely acclaimed in the area of entrepreneurial studies. Dr Washington holds Ph. D (Business Administration – Entrepreneurship) and MBA from the University of Nairobi and other degrees. He has several years of experience in management, teaching, research and organizational development consultancy. Dr Washington served as General Manager at Kenya Breweries Limited and later as Managing Director at Southlink Consultants Limited. Dr. Okeyo has been Lead Consultant in many projects in UNESCO, UNDP, UNICEF, Oxfam, CHF International and USAID. Dr. Okeyo is currently Vice-Chancellor of Academic Research and Extension and PhD Coordinator at Management University of Africa. He has led research and organizational development projects in several corners of the globe including serving as the research programme manager for Africa-wide UNESCO funded research project. Dr Washington has written and published widely in Entrepreneurship, Management, and Leadership. He is a current full member of Kenya Institute of Management and has assessed performance of many CEOs and wide cross-section of multi-sectoral businesses and organizations in Kenya under KIM’s Organizational Performance Index (OPI) and Company of the Year (COYA) initiatives.
