Dr. M. Basavanna received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Mysore, Ph.D. in Computer Science from VELS University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, under the guidance of Dr. S. K Srivatsa. From 1999, he was a lecturer in Computer Science, and became Assistant Professor in 2009 in the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka, India. He has published more than 32 research papers in various National and International Journals and conferences and published 5 books. He is a Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata-India.

Presently, he is working as Associate Professor, Department of Studies in Computer Science, Davangere University, Shivagangotri, Davangere, Karnataka. His research interests include digital image processing, pattern recognition, AI and scene text analysis.
