Chelmala Srinivasulu PhD, FLS, FZS, is Asspciate Professor of Zoology at Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, with a research focus on biodiversity conservation, systematics, and faunal taxonomy in South Asia. He is passionate about all things small, such as volant and non-volant small mammals, reptiles, and spiders, groups in which he has discovered and named new taxa. Birds were his first interest, and he has produced numerous research papers on their diversity, distribution, and behaviour. He still holds bird studies very close to his heart. As a taxonomist, he loves understanding and explaining scientific names and their origin.
