Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava, INELI South Asia Mentor and INELI India Innovator. INELI India and South Asia is a regional program of the Global Libraries Initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, implemented in India by the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, India. The INELI India Programme, allowed me to become an Innovative Leader in my library field. He is presently working as a Divisional Librarian and Head of Govt. Divisional Public Library Kota since July 2010. Beside these Service he has been served to the India’s First Women University- Banasthali University and Secondary Education also. He has unique distinction of having acquired Masters Degrees in Library and information Science from Barakatullah University Bhopal and Bachelors of Library and information Science from Rajasthan University. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Shrivastava is a Science graduate with M.phil and Ph.D in Library and Information Science, with exposure to several-advanced training programme on the applications of IT to Library Management. Community Library Services is the main focus of his work at Govt. PDDU Divisional Public Library Kota. Library Automation, Reengineering of Libraries, Open Access Publishing, Library Management, Copyright & Plagiarism Issues, Annotated Bibliographic work, Microfilming, and Digital Libraries are other areas of his interests. He is the First Public Library Professional in India who’s achieved the M. Tech Degree First in Public Librarianship field.
He is the well Known Library and Information Science specialist in the field of the Public Library and also author of the Many International and National Paper. He has 20 years vast experience as a Librarian and Library specialist from university, public and school libraries. He is presented many Research Papers in International and National Conferences. He has contributed more than 20 International and 30 National Research papers in reputed Journals in India and abroad. He is a member and office bearer of many learned Bodies and Important Association Like: Indian Library Association, Library Professional Association (LPA), Society for Advancement of Library and Information and Science (SALIS), Texas Library Association (TLA), Librarian Alternatives Membership, Digital Libraries (DL) etc. He is also Board Advisory Member of Journal of Information and Management. He is the Vice President of Rajasthan Public Library Association (RPLA).
He is also work as Subject Expert in Rajasthan Ministerial and Subordinate Services. He has been awarded by many agencies from Govt and Private Institutions in his professional carrier. In 2013, he has been awarded by LPA Best Public Librarian Award in Delhi. Many Radio Interview and Talks of Dr. Shrivastava have been broadcast by All India Radio (AIR), 92.7 BIG FM, STN NEWS, ETV Rajasthan etc. He has already chaired the Session of Many International and National Conference. Basically Dr Shrivastava is the Library networking expert and very popular in the Field of Virtual, Digital, E-Libraries and Library Automation. He has been the Member of several committees of the Department of Language and Libraries, Govt. of Rajasthan. He is the Member of Many Local Literary Institutions like “Vikalp”. His Area of interests are –Interacting with disadvantaged Readers of Public Library, Public Teaching Library & Information Science, Writing the Research Papers and Articles in the area of library & information science, Knowledge management, Content / information analysis application of ICT in libraries Library Automation & Networking Digital libraries Database Management / Storage /Retrieval , Library portals generation. Recently in 2015 again awarded by LPA Best Public Librarian Award in Jaipur by Honorable Higher Education Minister Shri Kalicharan Sharraf in International KOAL-2015. Awarded by Manohar Research Award- 2015, Kailash Best Research Paper, Presentation and Knowledge Sharing Award -2016, and Mitra Novelty Award-2016. In beginning of the 2017 he has been awarded by Most Creative thinker award in Melbourne (Australia) by IFLA president Christen mechanize and Global libraries President Ms. Deborah Jacab. In Mid of the Year on the occasion of 125th Anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan he has been awarded by Award of Excellence for Major Contribution for Public Libraries by JECRC University Jaipur. On the 69th Republic Day, Kota Collector awarded to Dr. Shrivastava for outstanding Contribution.. He is visited this Australian library with future library of Singapore. He has been Published three Books. He has been awarded by Govt. of Rajasthan District Administrative Award in 26th Jan., 2018. Dr. Shrivastava has visited Australian and Singaporean Public Libraries in relation to various assignments related to Digital Library and allied areas in his field. He has widely travelled in India in relation to various professional meetings and other professional tasks. Recently his name has been considered in IFLA WALL OF FAME. Its biggest honor as a Public Librarian.
